Police served search warrants at two city locations, making three arrests for drug-related offenses.

Officers went to 203 Wayne Ave. just before 5 p.m. Tuesday to serve a search warrant. Police forced open the home’s front door and found two men inside the South Side dwelling.

Police charged Kevin Woods, 31, who lives at the home, with permitting drug abuse. Michael Ware, 33, of Broadway Avenue, was charged with drug abuse of crack cocaine.

Woods is in Mahoning County jail on a $1,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear before Judge Elizabeth Kobly of Youngstown Municipal Court on Aug. 5. Ware was released from the county jail Wednesday on his own recognizance.

Police confiscated a list of items from the house, including three bags of suspected crack cocaine, a bag of suspected powdered cocaine, a digital scale, pills and a total of $4,439 taken from various places in the home.

Police also raided a home at 852 Norwood Ave. on the North Side about 6 p.m. Tuesday.

After getting no answer, police forced open the side door and found 29-year-old Gary Hopkins of Crandall Avenue inside. Police charged Hopkins with possession of marijuana.

He was released from jail on his own recognizance Wednesday. He is due back in municipal court Aug. 1.

Police confiscated a plastic bag of suspected marijuana, multiple parts to several crack pipes, a scale, and $13 from the house.
