Police say CA man killed in attempt to steal pot

BREA, Calif. (AP) — Police say a Southern California man was shot to death while trying to steal medical marijuana from a deliveryman.

Brea police Sgt. Jim Griffin says 20-year-old Minh Kinh Dang of Santa Ana and at least three friends confronted the pot dispensary deliveryman and his armed security guard Wednesday night in the alley of an apartment complex.

Gtiffin says the security guard fired three shots at Dang, who was holding a handgun. Arriving officers found Dang dead at the scene.

The Orange County Register says Dang’s friends were arrested for investigation of robbery and murder.

The deliveryman and security guard were questioned and released.
