OSHP sets up OVI checkpoint Friday in Youngstown

CANFIELD — The Ohio State Highway Patrol, in conjunction with the Youngstown Police Department, announced today that an OVI checkpoint will be from 9 p.m. to midnight Friday on Glenwood Avenue near the Youngstown Playhouse.

The checkpoint is funded by federal grant money to combat alcohol-related and fatal crashes, said Lt. Chris Heverly, commander of the patrol’s Canfield Post.

If you plan to drink alcohol, designate a driver or make other travel arrangements, Heverly added.
