Water protectiopn program Thursday in New Castle
NEW CASTLE, Pa.
The Pennsylvania American Water Company will host an introductory “Source Water Protection Technical Assistance Program” meeting at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at its operations center, 2736 Ellwood Road. Anyone interested is invited to attend.
The program’s goal is to identify and implement precautions to prevent contaminants from entering the community’s groundwater.
Input gathered from the session will help in developing a plan for the Shenango River watershed. The river is Pennsylvania American Water’s primary source of supply for its nearly 17,000 New Castle-area customers.
