Schedule appointments for summer utility assistance

Trumbull Community Action Program, 1230 Palmyra Road SW, will begin scheduling appointments for the Summer Crisis Program Monday.

Eligible applicants can receive a one-time payment up to $175 on electric bills. Households with a member who has an illness or disability who would benefit from continued electric service, and/or air conditioning, verified by a physician, are also eligible.

Income-eligible households with a member 60 or older are qualified to receive one air conditioner if none was received in 2008, 2009 or 2010 and/or one payment for the current electric bill up to $175.

Income guidelines for 2011 range from $21,780 per year for a single-person household to $52,340 for a household of six.
