Western Pa. man gets prison for sex with MySpace teen

UNIONTOWN, Pa. (AP) — A western Pennsylvania man will spend five to 10 years in prison after pleading guilty to having sex with a 14-year-old girl he met on the MySpace social networking site.

Richard Sabatasse, 27, of Mount Lebanon, was sentenced Monday, a week after pleading guilty to involuntary deviate sexual intercourse and other charges after Fayette County prosecutors agreed to drop kidnapping and computer-related charges.

Prosecutors say Sabatasse communicated with the girl for weeks before picking her up in Connellsville early May 14, 2010 and taking her to his home in Allegheny County for two days, where they had sex. The girl told police Sabatasse took her cellphone and refused to give her food while they traveled in western Pennsylvania and West Virginia before taking her home.

Sabatasse also pleaded guilty to giving the girl alcohol, and other sex-related charges.
