Valley’s unemployment rate is down slightly


The Mahoning Valley’s unemployment rate decreased slightly in May to 9.4 percent, the fourth straight month of decline.

Though the number of unemployed remained relatively unchanged, the Valley had 3,400 more employed people in May compared to April.

The area’s rate is still higher than the national average (9.1 percent) and Ohio’s (8.6 percent).
