Bike safety day planned

BOARDMAN

Boardman High School’s National Honors Society members and the Boardman police are hosting a Bicycle Safety Day.

The event is scheduled for 9 a.m. to noon July 9 in the high school parking lot.

Children will be taught proper hand signals, how to check tire pressure and more.

Also the police department is allowing each child to register his or her bicycle with them. Each bike will receive a serial number. If the bike is lost or stolen, it will help police return it to the owner.

Registration fliers have been sent to each elementary school and middle school, and there will be extra forms at the event. Students should take their bikes and registration forms if they have them.
