5 injured in crash involving W.Pa bus, truck

WHITAKER, Pa. (AP) — Five people are hurt after a crash involving a truck and a transit bus just outside Pittsburgh.

A spokesman for the Port Authority of Allegheny County says the bus driver and two passengers were transported to a hospital following the crash Monday afternoon.

Officials say the driver of the truck and a passenger were also transported from the scene of the crash in Whitaker.

Whitaker Volunteer Fire Department Chief Lenny Hilligsberg says crews had to cut the roof off the truck to free the occupants.

The Port Authority says the truck crossed the center line just before the crash.

Names and conditions of the injured were not immediately released.
