ART SHOWS

Art on the Hill 2011 is seeking artisans and food vendors for its July 9 show in Mantua. In addition to the art displays and sales, the daylong event includes continuous live entertainment and food. CRAFT SHOWS

The 24th Annual Arts & Crafts in the Park, will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Centennial Park, East Pershing Street, Salem.

Celebrate Poland Craft Show, will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday on the front lawn of Village Hall on South Main Street, Poland.

Shepherd of the Valley-Niles is seeking vendors for its craft show, planned for 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. July 9. To reserve a table or for more information, call Kim Osborn, Shepherd of the Valley-Niles activity director, at 330-544-0771, ext. 2841. Funds raised support resident activities.

SALES

First Presbyterian Church, 201 Wick Ave., will have a large rummage sale from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 9. Household and furniture items, sewing and quilting materials, 45 and 33 RPM records and players, crafts and books are some of the many items for sale. Between 8 and 9 a.m., coffee will be served, and later, lunch items will be available for purchase. Free parking is available behind the church.

Vienna Amvets Post 290, 290 Youngstown-Kingsville Road SE, will have its annual garage sale from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. Hamburgers and hot dogs will be sold.

SPECIAL EVENTS

Youngstown Harley Owners Group is sponsoring a Panty Run on Saturday to benefit the Austintown Community Senior Center, 100 Westchester Drive. Food, refreshments, games, a basket auction, 50-50 raffle, DJ and bake sale will be featured. The cost is $15 per rider, $5 per passenger, and $5 for walk-ins. Registration will begin at 9 a.m. at Harley Davidson Bike Town, 5700 Interstate Blvd, Austintown. The first bike out will go at 11 a.m., and the last bike in will be at 3 p.m. when the run ends at Ausintown Senior Center. For information call 330-559-2072.

Youngstown Chapters of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc., Epsilon Mu Omega and Delta Delta are sponsoring a bus trip to Washington, D.C., Aug. 27-28 to the dedication ceremony of Martin Luther King Jr.’s National Memorial. The bus will depart at 7 a.m. Aug. 27 from McDonald’s on Belmont Avenue and will depart Washington for Youngstown at 4 p.m. Aug. 28. Prices are $150 per person/double occupancy, $75 for those 12 and under and $195 for single occupancy. Due immediately is $75, which is not refundable.
