A 22-year-old vocalist from Celina has been crowned Miss Ohio and will compete for the Miss America title.

The Mansfield News Journal reports Miss Clayland Ellen Bryan beat out 25 pageant contestants Saturday in the statewide Miss Ohio Scholarship program. The Ball State University graduate receives an awards package that includes a $10,000 scholarship from Newman Technology.

She wore a glimmering, reddish dress as she was crowned by the outgoing Miss Ohio, Becky Minger.

The runner-up was a fellow vocalist, 20-year-old University of Akron student Alissa Brumbaugh of North Canton.
