Market Street paving work to be completed in a month

YOUNGSTOWN — Workers on an improvement project to the lower portion of Market Street didn’t pave it to then tear it up.

Orange spray paint markings are on a small amount of asphalt, placed there to level the street thus making it easier for the installation of catch basins, curbs and sidewalks, said Charles Shasho, deputy director of the city’s public works department.

After the basins, curbs and sidewalks are installed, about three inches of asphalt will be placed atop Market Street between Williamson and Woodland avenues.

The work should be done in about a month, Shasho said.
