Cavs host Kanter, Knight as NBA draft nears

CLEVELAND (AP) — Center Enes Kanter and guard Brandon Knight are working out for the Cleveland Cavaliers, who have the No. 1 and 4 overall picks in this week’s NBA draft.

Kanter’s visit today is his second with the Cavs, who have not publicly said whom they will take with the first overall selection Thursday night.

Duke point guard Kyrie Irving is their expected choice, and the Cavs are the only team the 6-foot-4 players worked out for.

Knight, who averaged 17.3 points and 4.2 assists per game for Kentucky last season, could be option for the Cavs if they take Kanter or Arizona forward Derrick Williams instead of Irving at No. 1.

The Cavs are not making players available after their workouts.
