Schrums observe 50th anniversary with reception

YOUNGSTOWN

Mr. and Mrs. Robert Thomas Schrum of Limestone, Maine, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with family and friends at a reception in May at Omni West House.

Hosts were their sisters, Kathy Gerberry of Austintown, Diane Schrum of Youngstown, Barb Metzendorf of Howland, Ruth Schrum-Trask of Northfield Center, Ohio, and brother Jim Schrum of Greensboro, N.C.

The couple’s family includes their children and their spouses: Patti and Jim Bynum of Clarksville, Tenn.; Tammy and Russ Adamson of Springfield, Ohio; Thomas and Lisa Schrum of Las Vegas, and Ann Virgin of Farmingdale, Maine. The couple also have four grandchildren.

The former Sharon Edgecomb and Mr. Schrum were married July 1, 1961, at St. Louis Church in Limestone, Sharon’s hometown.

Mr. Schrum, a 1956 graduate of Austintown Fitch High School, retired in 1988 as a chief master sergeant in the United States Air Force after a 30-year career.

Before entering the Air Force, he had been a carpenter with Schrum Brothers, which built homes in Austintown in the 1940s and ’50s.

Mrs. Schrum is a homemaker.
