Fiery plane crash in Ohio kills two from New Jersey

The Ohio State Highway Patrol, Circleville Post, is investigating a plane crash that killed the pilot and a passenger today at Rickenbacker Airport near Columbus.

Troopers responded to the scene to investigate the crash involving a 2008 Cirrus CR22 airplane.

Troopers on the scene have determined that the pilot, Viswanathan Rajaraman, 54, of Franklin Lakes, N.J., was attempting to take off outbound to New Jersey and crashed east of the runway at Rickenbacker Airport.

The plane caught fire and Hamilton Township and Madison Township fire departments responded to the scene.

The pilot, along with the only passenger, Mary J. Sundaram, 50, of Franklin Lakes, were pronounced dead at the scene.
