Columbus police this morning critically injure man who refused to drop knife

COLUMBUS

Columbus police say two officers responding to a call about an armed man shot a suspect who refused orders to drop a knife he was holding when they confronted him at a market.

Police say the 52-year-old man was in critical condition after being shot several times early this morning. Officers say he was taken to a hospital for surgery. His name was not released.

No other injuries were reported.

The shooting is under investigation.
