16-year-old shot and killed on South Avenue in Youngstown

YOUNGSTOWN

Sixteen-year-old Brandon Adkins was shot in the back and killed at about 11:30 p.m. Saturday on South Avenue in the city.

Youngstown police have questioned witnesses but said Sunday afternoon there are no known suspects. Adkins death, if ruled a homicide by the Mahoning County coroner, would be the sixth murder of 2011 to date compared to 13 as of June 19 in 2010.
