ABWA names 2011 Woman of the Year

The American Business Women Association, Youngstown Charter Chapter, named Cathy Lou Pokrivnak its “2011 Woman of the Year.”
As Woman of the Year, Pokrivnak will be modeling at the ABWA Annual Fashion Show Sept. 25. She was honored at a dinner in May at Johnny’s Restaurant.
Patty Coogan and Peg Broadwater chaired and hosted the evenings “56th Anniversary Dinner” event. “Following June” band was the entertainment for the evening.
Pokrivnak is the President of the Youngstown Charter Chapter of the American Business Women’s Association and is also the Chair of ABWA Council for the tri-county area.
Pokrivnak has been employed by Youngstown State University since 1984 and is an administrative assistant in the Records Office overseeing their graduation and transcript processing.
She works with Protestant Family Services as Chairwomen of the Missions Committee at her church. She sits as trustee on a local condo board and an advocate on behalf of children with special needs.
Pokrivnak resides in Boardman with her husband, John.
