Youngstown man indicted for trafficking in counterfeit merchandise


YOUNGSTOWN — A Youngstown man is charged in a one-count criminal information with trafficking in counterfeit wallets, purses, pants and sports apparel, the U.S. Attorney said.

Victor Won, 56, was charged with intentionally trafficking and attempting to traffic in more than 600 items, including sports hats and jerseys, with counterfeit marks, logos, labels, holograms and hang tags on Feb. 3.

The marks on the merchandise were identical to and substantially indistinguishable from marks on genuine merchandise and were likely to cause confusion or deceive purchasers, the U.S. Attorney said.
