Concert series at Churchill Park

The 2011 summer concert series, Music in the Park, will be featured on select Fridays at Churchill Park, off Belmont Avenue.

All concerts are scheduled from 7 to 10 p.m.

Dates and performers will be July 1, The Juke Hounds, jazz, funk, rock; July 8, Sam & Gary, light rock mix; July 22, Jim Moran, keyboard/mix; Aug. 19, Jones For Revival, rock mix; and Aug. 26, The Classic Cruisers, pop decade.

The concert series is provided by the generosity of Drs. Lakshmi and Veeraiah C. Perni, and other sponsors are Ruth and Frank DiLallo and Liberty trustees.

Food and refreshments will be available at the concerts.

The Gateway Clipper offers Sunday ice-cream social or Kids Showtime cruises. The ice-cream social features a magic show.

Ice-cream-social cruises are from Sunday through Sept. 4 with boarding at 1 p.m. and sailing from 1:30 to 3:30.

Showtime cruises are select Wednesdays and Saturdays, this weekend through Aug. 27 with boarding at 11:30 a.m. and sailing from noon to 2 p.m.

Benefit concert planned at church

Coitsville Presbyterian Church, 91 Coitsville- Hubbard Road, will present a benefit concert at 7 p.m. June 24 at the church featuring country music and a Gospel jamboree.

Performing will be Del Cozen and the Over the Hill Gang, Carol DelFlore presenting “Songs in Sign Language” and Unity Road.

There also will be a bake sale. A free will offering will be received.
