Kiwanis club gives three scholarships

CANFIELD

Kiwanis Club of Western Mahoning County awarded three $1,000 scholarships to area seniors recently.

Recipients were Lindsey Morris of Jackson-Milton High School, Gia Velasquez of Canfield High School and Edward Garcia Jr. of the Mahoning County Career and Technical Center.

Members are selling raffle tickets for a street-legal scooter, for which the drawing will be June 22. Tickets are $2 each, and proceeds will go to fund community and youth projects. A cash prize may be taken in lieu of the scooter.

July 13 will be the club’s 60th anniversary.
