Irish man pulled from plane pleads in hit and run

MEDIA, Pa. (AP) — An Irish citizen who investigators say was trying to flee the country following a hit-and-run crash has pleaded guilty to charges in suburban Philadelphia.

The Delaware County Daily Times reports 28-year-old Damian Crossan pleaded guilty Monday to a pair of third-degree felonies stemming from the February 2 crash that injured a woman in Upper Darby.

Crossan was arrested several days later on board a flight that was departing for Ireland from John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York.

Common Pleas Court Judge Gregory Mallon says each of the felonies carry maximum sentences of seven years in prison. Sentencing is scheduled for July 11.

Mallon says an immigration detainer is pending for Crossan.
