City police are investigating the reported rape of a 13-year-old South Side girl by her 15-year-old boyfriend.

Reports allege the incident took place Wednesday, but the teenage girl did not tell her mother what had taken place until Friday. According to reports, the boy came to visit the girl, the two went to a nearby vacant house. Reports say the boy pushed the girl down and forced himself on her.

Beating probed

YOUNGSTOWN

Police are investigating the beating and robbery of a 41-year-old Hillman Street man. According to reports, the man was walking down Market Street near Lucius Avenue about 2:53 a.m. Sunday when he was approached by a group of four men who began beating him. The man later noticed his wallet was missing from a chain attached to his clothing. The victim refused treatment from an ambulance service.

Man arrested

The Columbiana County Sheriff’s Department arrested a man they suspect of breaking into five businesses and one residence in the county.

Sydney P. Huffnagle II, 18, reportedly broke into: Gorby’s Grocery, 50571 Richardson Ave in Negley; Carney Gas Service, 42911 State Route 518 in West Point; Phatt Cat Drive Thru, 7760 State Route 45 in Lisbon; Farmer Bill’s Carry Out, 13408 State Route 164 in Gavers; and Elkrun Roll-Off, 9676 State Route 7 in Rogers.

Police also charged Huffnagle with receiving stolen property after he reportedly used a stolen credit card that he claimed to have found.

Buggy, SUV collide

A horse-drawn buggy pulled into the path of a sport-utility vehicle on state Route 208 in Wilmington Township, state police in New Castle said. No one was injured in the accident, which happened at 9:15 p.m. Sunday, police said. The horse was injured but is expected to survive.

Police said Andy Byler, 21, of Volant and a 17-year-old girl were both at the reins when the accident happened. They were each charged with DUI, police said.

Armed robbery

Shenango Township police are investigating an armed robbery at the Get Go on New Butler Road. A man entered the store about 10:50 p.m. Sunday, brandished a pair of scissors, robbed the clerk of an undisclosed amount of cash, then fled on foot, police said.
