LORDSTOWN

General Motors Co.’s Lordstown facility will host an open house from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. July 28.

GM is hosting open houses at all 54 plants and customer-care warehouses.

InfoCision to have open interviews

Akron-based InfoCision is having open interviews from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at its location here at 253 E. Washington St.

Gas prices drop from last week

YOUNGSTOWN

Gas prices in Ohio have dipped but still are more than $1 higher than the prices at the pump at this time last year.

Gas in the Youngstown-Warren market averaged about $3.70 per gallon for regular-grade gasoline Monday afternoon, 8 cents less than last week’s average. A year ago, gas was $2.61 in the Mahoning Valley.

Statewide, according to a survey from auto club AAA, the Oil Price Information Service and Wright Express, the average price of gas is $3.66. That’s down 22 cents from last Monday’s average. A year ago, the state average was about a dollar less at $2.65.

Five Below to open store in Boardman

The Shops at Boardman Park announced Monday a new tenant will join its lineup.

Five Below, a store that sells sporting goods, games, fashion accessories, jewelry, candy, storage, stationery, novelty gifts and more, will open in August.

It describes itself as an extreme-value store that markets to teens and pre-teens.

Five Below has more than 140 stores throughout the Middle Atlantic region.

State of Ohio to auction 147 vehicles

COLUMBUS

The state will auction off 147 cars, SUVs, trucks and vans at its surplus auction Saturday.

The auction will be at 10 a.m. at the Ohio Department of Administrative Services, General Services Division headquarters, 4200 Surface Road. Gates open at 8 a.m.

The vehicles include a 2006 Mercedes Benz CLS500 seized by officials as well as a 2008 Chevrolet Impala and 10 2008 Ford Crown Victorias.

Automobiles may be inspected from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. this week but can be started only from 8 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. Friday.
