New Middletown council gives first reading to dog cleanup ordinance

NEW MIDDLETOWN — Village council members gave first reading tonight to a measure which would allow dog owners to be cited into Mayor’s Court for failing to clean up after their dogs in Welker Park.

The measure would add these and other park rules and regulations to the codified ordinance of the village, allowing them to be legally enforced.

The measure needs two more readings to become law.
