Gas prices drop 8 cents in region

Gas prices in Ohio have dipped, but are still more than $1 higher than prices at this time last year.

Gas in the Youngstown-Warren market averaged about $3.70 per gallon for regular-grade gasoline today, eight cents less than last week’s average. A year ago, gas was $2.61 in the Mahoning Valley.

Statewide, according to a survey from auto club AAA, the Oil Price Information Service and Wright Express, the average price of gas is $3.66. That’s down 22 cents from last Monday’s average.

A year ago, the state average was $2.65.
