Bleeding man hurt in hit-skip in Weathersfield

Staff report

WEATHERSFIELD TOWNSHIP

A 28-year-old West Evergreen Avenue man, already suffering from one injury, was hit by a car early Sunday at the intersection of Salt Springs and Four Mile Run roads.

Troopers from the Ohio State Highway Patrol said DeRon J. Williams was bleeding when he approached a vehicle driven by Jake D. Kinser of Niles at the intersection at 1:30 a.m.

While Williams was asking Kinser for help, a sport-utility vehicle heading north on Four Mile Run Road behind Kinser’s vehicle hit Kinser’s vehicle and Williams.

The sport utility vehicle then fled the scene traveling west on Salt Springs.

Williams was taken to St. Elizabeth Health Center for treatment, though the hospital had no record of him on Sunday afternoon.

Troopers from the highway patrol’s Southington post and from the highway patrol’s Investigative Services division are investigating the crash and ask anyone with information to call 330-898-2311.
