Tyler Chapin struck out five in five innings to lead Sunrise (5-1). Jake Abbott went 4-for-4 with a double and two RBIs and pitched the final two innings. Steve Wiley had two hits for the Cardinals (2-5).

Shawn Pelo went 3-for-3 with a triple, a double, two RBIs and three runs for the Knights (5-2), who have won five straight. Andrew Beachy hit a bases-clearing double in the seventh and Rick DuMuzio scored three runs on two singles and a walk. Jeremy Krol had seven strikeouts in six innings to get the win. Tom Jones and Dave DeJulio each had two hits for Express (3-5).

Mahoning Valley Knights 3

Nick Harper had four hits, including a double, with three RBIs, while Dave Nypaver hit a triple, double and single, and drove in four runs for Sunrise. Cliff Panezich hit two doubles and also drove in four runs, while Mike Morris doubled and singled. Joe Novak and Craig Dobos both doubled and singled for the Knights.

Champion Marlins 8,

PI&I Express 7

Manoli Pahoulis hit a three-run homer for the Marlins, who rallied from a 5-0 deficit. Mike Johnson added a double and single, and Zac Wolfe drove in two runs. Cory Hitt had a double and single and three RBIs for PI&I, while Robby Sullivan singled twice. Tom Jones also double and singled, and Dave DeJulio hit a double.
