Robbery probed in Boardman

Police investigated an armed robbery at 12:48 p.m. Saturday at the Check into Cash on U.S. Route 224 in Boardman Plaza.

Boardman Capt. Don Lamping said a man walked in and pulled a gun on the clerk. No one was hurt, and he doesn’t know how much money was stolen.

Lamping said police had a K-9 unit tracking the suspect but did not find him. The suspect was on foot “for a short time,” Lamping said, but he would not say whether someone else picked up the man.

He also would not give a description of the suspect.He said investigating officers were still at the scene, and he did not have an official report or more information. No arrest had been made as of 9:30 p.m. Saturday, police said.
