SCOUTS
Twin brothers Thomas J. Jr. and Joseph T. Groves, sons of Thomas Sr. and Sedora Groves of Wampum, Pa., both received Eagle Scout Awards, Boy scouting’s highest honor.
Their court-of-honor ceremony and reception were at Savannah United Methodist Church, New Castle, Pa.
They are both members of Moraine Trails Council Troop 746. Scoutmaster is John Book.
Thomas Jr. and Joseph, with the help of Troop 746, built two 8-foot-long park benches for their Eagle Scout service projects. They were placed at the two entrances of the North Country Trail on Snake Run Road in Shenango Township for hikers and walkers to sit and rest.
They are members of the Order of the Arrow and are attending the Silver Wolf Leadership program this month.
They are freshmen at Shenango High School, where they are members of Spanish Club and are honor students.
They have helped six other scouts in their troop with their service projects.
DOCTORATE
Holly Lynn Holman of Boardman has earned her doctor of pharmacy degree from the University of Toledo’s College of Graduate Studies.
She received her bachelor’s degree magna cum laude in pharmaceutical sciences in 2009 from the UT, where she received the Tower of Excellence Scholarship. She was a 2005 graduate of Boardman High School.
She will be doing her pharmacy residency at Toledo Hospital.
She is the daughter of Leonard S. Jr. and Kathy Holman and granddaughter of Harold and Louise Cullar, Mary Holman and the late Leonard S. Holman Sr.
Brian S. Hoffmaster of Boardman, son of Scott and Valorie Hoffmaster, recently graduated from the University of Toledo’s College of Graduate Studies with a doctor of pharmacy degree. He is engaged to Dr. Holly L. Holman.
Hoffmaster received his bachelor of science degree in pharmaceutical science, magna cum laude, in 2009 from the University of Toledo and received the Tower Prestige Scholarship. He graduated from Boardman High School in 2005.
His grandparents are Pearl Jeffers of Amarillo, Texas, and S. L. Jeffers, William C. and Mary Lou Hoffmaster, all deceased.
Terri Frederick Coffee, daughter of Albert and Gerry Frederick of Newton Falls, recently received her doctor of nursing practice from Chatham University, Pittsburgh.
Coffee is a graduate of Newton Falls High School and received her bachelor’s degree in nursing and master’s degree in nursing from Youngstown State University.
She and her husband and two children live in Newton Falls.
She is employed by Stafford Services as a clinical nurse specialist at Danridge’s Burgundi Manor, Youngstown.
LaWYERS
Andrew Good of Boardman, son of Robert and Theresa Good, also of Boardman, received his law degree last month from Capital University Law School in Columbus.
Good is a 2003 graduate of Boardman High School and a 2008 graduate of Ohio State University.
While at Capital, he received the Roberta Mitchell Award, which is given to a graduating student for excelling in the legal clinic.
HONORS
Judge Theresa Dellick of Mahoning County Juvenile Court was installed earlier this month as president of the Ohio Association of Juvenile Court Judges.
The OAJCJ is the professional organization for the state’s juvenile court judges. It meets regularly to improve the juvenile- justice system by collaborating with state legislators, school officials, law-enforcement officials and social-service agencies.
Judge Dellick has also served as the association’s secretary, treasurer, vice president and trustee. The judge has lectured nationally and statewide on various juvenile-justice measures. She and her husband, John, have two children and live in Canfield.
