Friends, family honor Grischows for 60th milestone

AUSTINTOWN

Mr. and Mrs. Ernest W. Grischow of Austintown were honored at a luncheon reception June 5 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Youngstown in observance of their 60th wedding anniversary.

Their daughter and son-in-law, Jim and Holly Gifford, hosted the event for friends and family.

The couple also celebrated on the date of their anniversary with a private family dinner.

Mr. Grischow and the former Bette J. Stiles were married June 9, 1951, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, where they are members.

Mrs. Grischow, a homemaker, was a bookkeeper for J.N. Pincus Co. of Youngstown. She is a member of the Ladies Aid Society of the church.

Mr. Grischow retired in 1991 as an engineer for Ameritech after working there more than 40 years. He is a deacon and member of the church council. Mr. Grischow served three years with the U.S. Air Force in Greenland during World War II.
