Poland Village Baptist Church, 79 Hill Drive, celebrated an installation service June 5 for Brian J. Ethridge who recently assumed the position of senior pastor.
Pastor Ethridge relocated with his wife, Julie, and family to the Mahoning Valley from Dublin, Ohio, where he was ordained and served as executive pastor at Northwest Chapel for the past 12 years. They have three children.
Pastor Ethridge graduated in 1989 from Cedarville University in Ohio with a bachelor’s degree in Bible comprehensive and from Grace Theological Seminary, Winona Lake, Ind., in 1996 with a master of divinity degree. Pastor Ethridge also served as assistant pastor at Fellowship Baptist Church in Warsaw, Ind., for six years.
Special participants included Dr. David Warren, state representative for the Ohio Association of Regular Baptist Churches; Pastor Martin Guerena, associate pastor at Northwest Chapel; and Pastor Michael Hooks, previous pastor at PVBC.
Labyrinth walk

Villa Maria Education and Spirituality Center will have a guided labyrinth walk from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Villa Maria Community Center. The theme is “Awaken to Compassion.” Kirk Kupensky will play the Celtic harp. Sister Therese Pavilonis will offer a brief history and introduction before the walk. The Youngstown Chapter of Igniting New Life Ministries International, an inter-denominational ministry, will meet June 20 in the multipurpose room in Boardman Park. Fellowship will begin at 6 p.m. with the ministry at 6:30. Guest speaker will be Mike Guarnieri, senior pastor of The Father’s House in Norton, Ohio.
LIMEX meeting

The Diocese of Youngs-town Office of Religious Education will host an informational meeting for the Loyola Institute for Ministry Extension Program (LIMEX) of Loyola University, New Orleans, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at Our Lady of the Lakes Parish, St. James Church Hall. The presentation includes information on course requirements, tuition, spiritual formation and application for this graduate religious-education and pastoral studies degree program in the Diocese of Youngstown. Lay, religious and ordained people who are engaged in church ministry, or laity who want to address themselves to their ministry in the world, are encouraged to attend.

Pentecost song fest

First Presbyterian Church of Hubbard, 22 Westview Ave., will sponsor a Pentecost song fest at 3 p.m. Sunday. Music will be provided by the Presbyterian Church Choir, Morning Star and other guest musicians. A light meal and strawberry social will follow.
Those attending are asked to bring a non perishable food item for Hubbard Food Pantry.
