On May 17, Frank Ohl Intermediate students met a new friend named Chad, who brought with him a yo-yo and an imaginary boy named NED.

The visitors that day were part of the All for Kidz Company’s NED Show, a character-building assembly that teaches the lessons to never give up, encourage others and do your best – a message made into the acronym NED.

Chad championed the power of good choices and a positive attitude during his presentation, telling the students that positivity is always a good decision.

“Sometimes your parents and teachers aren’t in good moods. Sometimes, you have to choose to have a positive attitude during that day. You can use your words and actions to show off your own positivity,” Chad shared with the students.

He then asked some Frank Ohl fourth-graders to share some encouraging messages with their peers.

“Never give up on your dreams,” Kyle Anderson shared.

“Always work to be better at the things you care about,” Madison Hayes said.

For that wonderful message, Chad made Hayes a large balloon hat representing a firework.

After his discussion, Chad had some time to show the Frank Ohl students some yo-yo tricks, including the familiar walk the dog and swing tricks. Although he’s comfortable with his yo-yo, Chad said meeting kids is the favorite part of his job.

“I’ve been doing this job for six years and I still love to hear the answers the students give, especially when I ask them to support each other. It gives the kids a chance to do the teaching,” the performer shared.
