Youngstown police looking for would-be robber

YOUNGSTOWN — Police are investigating the attempted armed robbery of a construction worker at a job site on the city’s East Side.

According to reports, the worker was at a site on the corner of Albert Street and Republic Avenue at 4:15 p.m. Thursday when he was approached by a man who pulled out a gun and demanded his money.

The worker told police he turned his pockets out to prove he had no money and the would-be thief fired one shot in his direction, damaging some equipment, then ran off.
