Seven are all-state in baseball

Kyle Shaffer of Columbiana and Brenden Wells of West Branch have been named first team All-Ohio by the state baseball coaches association.
Both players were selected as outfielders.
Shaffer, a senior, led the Clippers to a 19-8 record and a berth in the district championship game.
Wells, a sophomore, batted .563 with two home runs and 21 RBIs. He also stole 35 bases.
Five other area players earned all-state honors.
In Div. IV, pitcher Tyler Whitlatch of Sebring and Warren JFK outfielder James Coates were named to the second team.
Also in the small school division, Matt Douglas of Columbiana and Brendan Cox of Warren JFK were selected honorable mention.
In Div. III, Ryan Trimbur of Girard was named to the honorable mention team.
