Pa. child-luring suspect nabbed at Ohio shelter

WARREN, Pa. (AP) — A man charged with trying to lure a young girl into his vehicle in northwestern Pennsylvania last month and another girl into a portable toilet near a playground has been arrested after he was found at a homeless shelter in Ohio.

Pennsylvania State Police and Conewango Township police last month filed charges including stalking and child luring against 40-year-old David Lopus, of Ashville, N.Y.

Police say he was arrested Thursday in Cleveland, where he remains in custody awaiting extradition.

Police say Lopus tried to lure a girl into his vehicle near a trailer park in Conewango on May 24. Based on a description of that vehicle, police also charged him with trying to lure an 11-year-old girl into the toilet near an elementary school playground on June 30.
