A summary of recent criminal activity in Girard, Hubbard and Liberty:
GIRARD
June 2
Theft: A man reported a $100 space heater stolen from his apartment in the 200 block of Church Hill Road.
June 3
Theft: A garage-door opener was missing from a car in the 800 block of Dravis Street.
Theft: A radar detector and an MP3 player were among property stolen from a vehicle in the 600 block of Powers Avenue. The loss came to $905.
Theft: A Shelby Street woman told officers she had given a relative permission to use her credit card to pay for her dog’s treatment, but that the relative used it to make an unauthorized purchase.
Arrest: Police charged 23-year-old Misti R. Campbell of Willowcrest Avenue, Austintown, with one count of child endangering after receiving complaints that a 4-month-old infant was alone in a sport utility vehicle left running in the 800 block of Washington Avenue.
Identity fraud: A Church Hill Road woman reported receiving overdraft fees for a $2,450 check she had never written, apparently after someone had obtained the check’s routing and account numbers.
June 4
Assault: Police responded to a fight between two women in a park off U.S. Route 422 that evidently started after one of the women hugged the other’s son.
Criminal damaging: The owner of a South State Street business reported a man burned several vehicle coverings.
Assault: A South Randolph Street woman alleged her former boyfriend grabbed her hair and shoved her.
June 5
Identity fraud: A Girard man reported sending a total of $1,600 to two people for a personal loan he had applied for but never received.
Attempted burglary: A woman found pry marks near a side window to her Crumlin Avenue home, apparently after someone had tried to enter.
June 6
Assault: Charges were pending against two students at Girard High School, 1244 Shannon Road, after a fight between them in which one boy alleged the other had struck his left eye.
June 7
Arrest: Officers responding to a disturbance in the 10 block of South Randolph Street arrested 37-year-old Josh Kersten, 131 Belgrade Ave., Youngstown, on an outstanding warrant.
HUBBARD
June 2
Menacing: A man in the 200 block of Hager Street reported a neighbor had made threats.
Theft: Fuel was removed from a vehicle belonging to Hubbard Coal & Supply Co., 828 N. Main St.
June 3
Menacing: A woman reported being threatened at a West Liberty Street store.
Theft: A Myron Street woman discovered someone had stolen gasoline from her car.
Criminal mischief: A man in the 800 block of West Liberty Street reported that a person using a tractor to cut grass struck his vehicle with grass trimmings and debris, though his car sustained no damage.
June 5
Fraud: A West Liberty Street man accused his nephew of using the accuser’s credit/debit card to buy several $100 gift cards without permission.
June 6
Theft: A man reported the theft of a jack hammer from his residence in the 200 block of East Liberty Street.
Possible theft: A West Liberty Street woman told police she believed her debit card had been stolen.
LIBERTY
June 2
Arrest: Youngstown police handed 21-year-old Michael C. Brown, 133 Wirt St., Youngstown, to township authorities. Brown was wanted on a charge of failing to appear in court on a theft count.
Drugs: Police responded to a vehicular accident on state Route 304, then charged 20-year-old Casey Mills, 73 Barcelona Drive, Niles, with drug abuse and possession of drug-abuse instruments. A syringe and a small quantity of suspected heroin were found, a report said.
Drugs: Police in the 1400 block of Townsend Avenue charged Evan D. Hideg, 21, of 2161 Arms Drive, Girard, with drug abuse and possession of drug paraphernalia after saying they found 2.3 grams of suspected marijuana and papers commonly used to roll marijuana.
June 3
Theft: Officers booked 42-year-old Troy M. Emmert, 25 Market St., Youngstown, after a digital camera, a cellphone, a $50 gift card and other items were stolen from Walmart, 200 Goldie Road. Emmert also was wanted by Portage County authorities.
Arrest: Larry D. Samuels, 57, of 1122 Burlington St., Youngstown, was arrested at the Mahoning County Jail on a township warrant.
Theft by deception: An official with a Youngstown-Hubbard Road business discovered irregularities in payments to customers who had brought in scrap metal and suspected two former employees of making deceptive transactions.
Fraud: A Stonington Drive woman discovered four unauthorized withdrawals totaling $439 to her checking account.
Arrest: John C. Bates, 30, of 385 Dupont Drive, Youngstown, was picked up at the Mahoning County Jail on a probation-violation charge.
Theft: Richard D. Neal, 19, of 410 W. Ravenwood Ave., Youngstown, was charged in the theft of two bottles of saline solution from Walmart. He also was charged with resisting arrest when, police said, they had to use a stun gun to get him to cooperate.
June 4
Drugs: Authorities made two arrests during a traffic stop near Colonial Drive when, they said, a cigarette pack with a small bag of suspected cocaine, as well as two bags of suspected marijuana, were found. No charges had been filed at the time of the report, however. Arrests: Officers responding to an unwanted person in the 2000 block of Crestwood Drive charged 44-year-old Gina M. Gasior, 916 S. Gray St., Youngstown, with criminal trespassing, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest, as well as Darlene Colvin, 49, of 1196 N. Meridian Road, Youngstown, with disorderly conduct. Gasior was on the property against the homeowner’s wishes, and both women were argumentative and uncooperative with police, a report showed.
Criminal mischief: Timothy Maloy, 54, of 1600 Motor Inn Drive, Liberty, was given a summons charging him with criminal mischief after someone at the Liberty Plaza had leaned into a vehicle in search of loose change.
Arrest: Authorities picked up 19-year-old Randayzeo Q. Lorden at the Mahoning County Jail Lorden, of 3405 Market St., Youngstown, was wanted on a charge of failing to appear in court.
June 5
Theft: A man stole $25 worth of hair clippers from Rite Aid Pharmacy, 2704 Belmont Ave.
June 6
Arrest: Police picked up 31-year-old Lakeysha S. Gilbert, 1658 Medford Ave., Youngstown, who was wanted by township authorities on a charge of failing to appear for a violation-of-probation hearing.
Theft: A woman in the 800 block of Pinecrest Road noticed her $1,500 trailer missing from her driveway.
