HARRISBURG, Pa.

Three jurors were selected Tuesday for the trial of Richard Poplawski, who’s charged with killing three Pittsburgh police officers in a Stanton Heights shootout in 2009.

The 24-year-old Poplawski could face the death penalty if convicted of the April 2009 deaths of officers Eric Kelly, Paul Sciullo II and Stephen Mayhle.

The officers were responding to a domestic dispute call at Poplawski’s mother’s house when prosecutors say Poplawski opened fire on police.

One other officer was wounded during the three-hour standoff.
