Tuition increase likely this fall for YSU students

YOUNGSTOWN — Youngstown State University graduate and undergraduate students will likely see a tuition increase likely in the fall. The YSU trustee board’s finance and facilities committee today approved a 3.5 percent tuition increase.

For undergraduate residents in their first semester, tuition will increase by $126. For nonresidents, students who are considered regional, the increase will be $193; for nonregional students, $268; and for students using the western Pa. advantage, the increase will be $131. Those students live in 10 counties in western, Pa.

For grad students, the per-semester increase for residents will be $167; for nonresidents $172. The increases still must be approved by the full trustee board, which meets June 17.
