Seminar on grants planned

The Youngstown Office on Minority Health is hosting the Ohio Commission on Minority Health on Wednesday for a grants technical-assistance session at Oakhill Renaissance Place, 345 Oakhill Ave., at the Youngstown City Health District/ Youngstown Office on Minority Health.
OCMH will accept proposals for two-year performance grants of up to $75,000 per applicant per year. Priority will be given to innovative, culturally appropriate projects addressing prevention of Type 2 diabetes. The Type 2 diabetes session is at 10 a.m.
At 1 p.m., two-year performance grants for Systemic Lupus Erythematosus proposals will be accepted. The focus of the Lupus grant, which will not exceed $14,000 per year per applicant, is for a support group providing patient and public education.
On June 16, the Youngstown Office on Minority Health will offer a funding conference with Dr. Betty Yung from Wright State University as the keynote speaker.
