Second day of jury selection under way in Ohio 11 slayings trial
CLEVELAND (AP) — Jury selection continued today in Cleveland in the trial of a man charged with killing 11 women.
Each morning and afternoon, Judge Dick Ambrose of Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court is bringing 15 prospective jurors into his courtroom. He outlines the case and then questions them in private about their views on the death penalty.
The process began Monday in the case against 51-year-old Anthony Sowell. Jury selection could last two weeks.
Sowell appeared impassive during the first day. He was dressed in civilian clothes, a change from his earlier court appearances in a jail jump suit. He has pleaded not guilty.
