Police investigating South Side robbery

YOUNGSTOWN

Police are investigating the armed robbery of a teenage boy that took place on the city’s South Side late Monday night.

According to police reports, a 17-year-old West Ravenwood Avenue boy was walking in the 3400 block of Hillman Street just after 11 p.m. when he was approached by two men. One of the men pulled a handgun and demanded the teen’s possessions while the other man went through the victim’s pockets searching for valuables.

Reports say the two men took jewelry, a bookbag containing music CDs and a cell phone before running off.

The boy walked to his home and called police.

Reports say police obtained possible identifications for the two thieves, but no arrests have been made.
