OSHP to put 3-day focus on trucks, buses
COLUMBUS (AP) — The Ohio State Highway Patrol says troopers will pay special attention to truck and bus safety as part of a three-day national crackdown called Roadcheck 2011.
The patrol says officers and inspectors will check commercial vehicles and their drivers from Tuesday through Thursday.
Inspections will be done at some 25 sites along major highways in the state, and roving patrols will do spot checks on other key roads.
Last year’s Roadcheck inspections found more than 4,200 safety violations on Ohio highways. The patrol says more than 450 commercial vehicles and 121 drivers were taken off the roads as a result.
