Whitacres mark anniversary at Saxon Club

Mr. and Mrs. Donald Whitacre of Berlin Center were honored by their family as they celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary at a dinner on June 1 at the Saxon Club in Austintown.

Host for the event was the couple’s son, David Whitacre of Silver Spring, Md.

The former Marge Bailey and Donald Whitacre were united in marriage June 1, 1946, at First Christian Church in Canton. They are members of Lockwood United Methodist Church.

Mr. Whitace served 12 years with the U.S. Army and was employed at Wean United.

Mrs. Whitacre was a registered nurse at Northside and Southside Hospitals for 33 years and was an elementary-school teacher for 23 years in the Liberty Local School District.
