Warriors Programs What’s available
Warriors Inc., a Christian-oriented community group based on Youngstown’s South Side, is offering summer programs for youth and adults. They include:
Bike club: Educates young people about safe bicycle riding and prepares them to ride various distances.
Chess club: Chess is taught to be used as a tool for mental development and to improve critical thinking.
Expressions of life: Gives young people an opportunity to express emotions creatively and constructively. Dance, creative writing, poetry, photography, cartooning and drama will be used.
Financial literacy: Introduces youths and adults to the importance of making wise financial decisions.
Gardening club: Teaches young people about the Earth’s resources and about patience.
Hooked on fishing, not on drugs: A state of Ohio wildlife program that focuses on preventing drug use through sport fishing and aquatic resources education.
Mentoring program: Provides stable and caring adult mentors to guide and inspire young people between the age 14 and 21.
Totally you girl: Offers a variety of activities meant to provide for the social, physical and spiritual needs of young women age 9 to 25.
Warriors of manhood: Focuses on educating and empowering young men age 9 to 25.
Youth leadership training: Youth are trained from a Christian perspective in leadership skills.
