Summer Festival of the Arts seeks ethnic groups for Festival of Nations

The Festival of Nations, part of Youngstown’s Summer Festival of the Arts, is seeking ethnic groups to participate in the festival, July 9 and 10 on Youngstown State University campus.

The Festival of Nations highlights the Mahoning Valley’s diverse ethnic populations through presentations of food, displays and musical or dance performances. Ethnic groups must be members of a church, synagogue or established club or organization to be considered. One representative group from each culture is generally accepted.

Ethnic groups receive a tent, tables and chairs, media promotion, inclusion in the health-department license application and free parking for volunteers. Performing groups are paid $100 for performances during the

event. Each ethnic group pays a fee based on food and memorabilia sales.
