Police are still trying to determine the identity of the city’s latest homicide victim.
As of late Saturday, police still didn’t know the name of the man killed in a Friday afternoon homicide on St. Louis Avenue on the city’s South Side.
The victim didn’t have any identification with him, police said.
He was shot in the head while driving a car registered to another person, police said.
He then crashed the Oldsmobile Alero into a porch ramp and a tree in the front yard of 118 St. Louis Ave. at 2:38 p.m. Friday, police said.
Police also are looking for those responsible for the killing.
Witnesses told police they saw the Alero and another vehicle driving east on St. Louis near Hillman Street and heard four gunshots.
Police said they found two shell casings in the rear of the car driven by the victim and one casing on a sidewalk near the location of the shooting.
This is the fifth homicide in the city this year. At this time last year, Youngstown had 11 homicides.
