Hromikos mark 50th anniversary at dinner, church

Nicholas and Natalie Marie Hromiko of Columbiana celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary June 4 at Drake’s Landing during a party hosted by their family.

They are receiving blessings today at the Nativity of Christ Orthodox Church, Youngstown, where they are members. Conducting the ceremony is the Very Rev. Stephen Holowach after the Divine Liturgy.

The former Natalie Marie Gryvnak married Nicholas Hromiko on June 3, 1961, at St. Nicholas Orthodox Church in Akron.

Mr. Hromiko served in the U.S. Army for two years and was employed as a mechanical engineering designer by Van Huffel Tube Corp. in Warren and NRM Corp. for 20 years. He retired from Danieli Wean Corp. in 1996.

Mrs. Hromiko was employed by General Tire of Akron and Kaiser Refractories in Columbiana, and she retired after 21 years of service as librarian of the Joshua Dixon Elementary School Library in 2004.

The couple have two children, Gregory (Laura) Hromiko of Columbiana and Gretchen (Donald) Emch of New Waterford. They have five grandchildren, Hannah Hromiko and Emily, Molly, Ryan and Abbey Emch.

The couple also will celebrate their anniversary with a trip to Oglebay Resort in Wheeling, W.Va.
