At the May meeting of Angels of Easter Seals at the Holiday Inn, member Carol O’Neil was elected to serve as president for the 2011-2012 season.

In her seven years of membership in Angels, O’Neil has served as vice president, recording secretary and corresponding secretary.

She served as co-chairwoman for the Magic of an Angels Christmas and worked on the hospitality, parliamentarian and telephone committees.

She is a former member of Boardman-Poland Junior Women’s League.

A lifelong area resident, O’Neil lives in Austintown with her husband, Randy. She retired from Delphi Packard Electric in 2001 after 32 years of service.

Serving with O’Neil will be Joan Zarlenga, first vice president; Kathy Carroll, second vice president; Janet Murray, corresponding secretary; Lynn Sahli, recording secretary; Shelly LaBerto, treasurer; and Jean Bennett, past president.

The Angels sponsored fundraisers that produced more than $150,000 this year to help the Easter Seals Center promote the welfare of children and adults with special needs in Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana counties.

Events coming up are “Angels and Friends, Volume 111,” their soon-to-be released cookbook; The Magic of an Angels Christmas on Nov. 19; and their popular Holiday Brunch and Sweet Shoppe on Dec. 7.
