‘Ticked Off’ author plans appearances

Janet DeCesare, local author and Mineral Ridge resident, will be available from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. every Wednesday in June at Ponderosa Steakhouse, 3581 Elm Road NE, Warren, to sign copies of her book, “Ticked Off.”

The story is about her battle with chronic Lyme disease.

DeCesare also will be at a signing at 9 a.m. June 25 at Poland Public Library, 311 S. Main St. She’ll also give a talk on her experiences at 11 a.m. June 26 at Ohltown United Methodist Church, 2001 Ohltown Road, Mineral Ridge.

Poetry readings set for outdoor venue

Pig Iron Literary & Art Works is announcing four outdoor summer poetry readings: June 14, July 12, Aug. 9 and Sept. 13 at Pig Iron Press, 26 N. Phelps St.

The open poetry readings will take place at 7:30 p.m. in the Ampco parking lot behind Pig Iron Press, on Commerce Street, between Phelps and Hazel streets.

Use the Commerce Street entrance to the parking lot. There will be no fee for parking that evening in that lot. The reading is open, and presenters are invited to read their own or favorite poems for up to eight minutes. Sign-up is at the stage until 7:15 p.m. For information, call 330-747-6932.
